Miracle Sneakers for my Walking Wardrobe

What kind of heel wearer are you? An all day can shop for hours in them kind of gal? More of a car to bar and spend the rest of the evening sitting down stylista or only on special occasions and even then the event has to justify the pain?

Me, I’m a full on obsessive, can’t wear anything else addict. I have worn heels for years now, I love the way they look, what they do to my legs, posture and the added inches to my 5ft 4″ frame. I actually think I’ve got a small case of body dysmorphia about the way my legs look in
flats. In fact I’ve been wearing heels for so long now that  I actually get backache when I’m not suspended on tip toes. But it does interfere with being a modern day mum. Running down the road after your child who’s as free as a bird on a scooter, or in the sandpit in the local park does raise eyebrows from other more practical mums whose heel height doesn’t go above the average Ugg boot sole. But then I was introduced to Iijin…..

Wandering around Cabot Circus trying to find something to spend my birthday money on I found myself in Garment Quarter and was drawn to a pair of moc croc black and white Converse style hi-tops. Normally I would walk straight past something like this but these had the added bonus of a hidden wedge sole that added those all important inches and leg lengthening effect. I’d found my perfect pair of weekend shoes and before I could say “how much” I was already walking out the door with a fabulous new purchase on my arm ready to hit the fox wire with my 5 year old.

Originating in the US by a Korean graduate of Economics with a passion for fashion, she created the ‘Iijin Sneakers’. Always wanting to wear trainers but refusing to wear flats she put a 2″ elevated insole inside her Converse and
loved them so much she decided to create her own brand of ‘magic sneakers’. And magic they are. The other great thing about these shoes is they come in smaller sizes, starting at a size 35 / UK 2. They’re not cheap but I’m planning on
looking after mine with a regular spray of rain protector, cleaning after each wear, shoe covers for when they’re not in use and a lot of love and affection.  These are a great addition to my working, or should that be, walking wardrobe
and I can’t wait to get out and about with them.

I'm a lover of all things fashion, style and image related but more than that I believe passionately in the power of feeling good in your clothes.
I'm also a mum to a teenage daughter who is taller than me with legs longer than mine and a dog whose curls are glossier and bouncier than mine!!
